What motivates you to learn? To be good at something? To gain a skill?
I love teaching because I love learning. I always want to be learning something. And I just so happen to love teaching and learning Spanish.
When is the last time you had FUN learning something?
If you have fun while learning, you will be more motivated to keep going. Therefore, you will want to find ways to learn that you enjoy. Ways that are meaningful to you.
Language is about communication. Yes, you will need to learn grammar and vocabulary. BUT the goal is to talk... to communicate. So as you learn, practice and interact with people.
As a kid, I was drawn to learn Spanish, when I started speaking it. I was excited because I saw a purpose in it. I got to take trips to Mexico and then Guatemala. Every country and people are so unique. I appreciate cultural diversity and learning from others.
For me, I look for opportunities to speak with native Spanish-speakers. I really love traveling to Spanish-speaking countries. Even now, I'm looking forward to my next trip.
